VISITA AL PLANETARIO / VISIT TO THE PLANETARIUM
Como debe ser, ¡el equipo UPNAvarra fue el sábado 4 de junio a las Jornadas de Tecnociencia!
Para aquellos que no lo sepan, Jornadas de
Tecnociencia es una jornada de divulgación científica organizada año tras año
por el planetario de Pamplona a la cual se presentan diferentes equipos para
hablar de proyectos que estén llevando a cabo.
¡Fue maravilloso compartir la mañana con multitud de equipos con proyectos fascinantes! Por ejemplo, Javier Armentia, director del planetario, habló de lo sencillo que es hoy en día aprender de ciencia tan sólo paseando por nuestra ciudad. Juanjo Rubio, experto en biología sintética, habló de la importancia de la importancia y la necesidad de fomentar, invertir y apoyar la biología sintética. Otros equipos ofrecieron información sobre sus proyectos, como Jon Goikoetxea y Ruben Muñoz, de CanSAT Navarra, que participan en competiciones de satélites en miniatura. En cuanto a programación, This Capaited Team nos mostró el proyecto que habían llevado a cabo, dando a niñas y niños discapacitados formación básica de robótica. As it should be, UPNAvarra Team was last Saturday, June 4th at the Tecnociencia ("Technoscience") conference!
For those who don't know, "Jornadas de Tecnociencia" is a yearly science-divulgation meeting organised by the planetarium of Pamplona, in which different teams are offered to give a talk about the projects they're researching in.
We were very glad to share this morning with so many different teams with very exciting challenges! For example, Javier Armentia, the planetarium's director, gave us a talk about how easy it is nowadays to learn about science just by walking around our city. Juanjo Rubio, expert in synthetic biology, talked about the importance and the necessity of empowering, investing and supporting synthetic-biology-related researches. Other teams also offered information about their projects, such as Jon Goikoetxea and Ruben Muñoz, from CanSAT Navarra, who use to take part in miniaturized satellite competitions. Regarding programming, This Capacited Team showed the project they had been working on, teaching disabled childs the basics about robotics. Naturally, our team went and talked about the idea of the project (which
can be found here)
and why we wanted to sign in to this competition. Sara Iglesias (team roaster)
and Hugo Salas (team member) gave a talk explaining what iGEM competition is,
why is important for us here in Navarre and gave elemental information for the
crowd to understand the way our engineered bacteria work.
The talks finished at 1 PM and before they finished some teams took a photo! Such a great morning in the end!
