Somos un grupo de estudiantes de la Universidad Pública de Navarra que estamos participando en IGEM, un concurso internacional organizado por el MIT. Somos 15 estudiantes en el equipo, procedentes de los nuevos grados de la universidad: biotecnología, ciencias, ciencia de datos e ingeniería biomédica.

Nuestro objetivo es completar un proyecto basado en biosensores capaces de detectar metales pesados en el ambiente, que tendrá aplicaciones en distintos campos como el agroalimentario o el dedicado al cuidado del medio ambiente.

La Giant Jamboree es celebrada en Boston, y sería una gran recompensa para nosotros llegar allí. Sin embargo, nuestro objetivo actual es llevar a cabo el proyecto, familiarizarnos con el laboratorio y aprender cómo funciona este nuevo mundo.

We are a group of students from the Navarre Public University who have signed up to IGEM, an international competition organised by the MIT. We are 15 students in the team, each coming from one of the new degrees in the Public University of Navarre: Biotechnology, Science, Data Science and Biomedical Engineering.

Our aim is to complete a proyect based on biosensors which can detect heavy metals in the environment. Our proyect will have applications in many different science fields, such as the agro-food industry or the environmental care.

The Giant Jamboree is celebrated in Boston and it would be a great reward for us to get there. However, our current objective is to carry out the project, become familiar with the lab and learn how this new world works.
